How do I add a validation check between two reports?

Last updated on Aug 31, 2026

Short Answer: Click '+ Add validation check', enter a 'Check name', choose Report 1 + Column and Report 2 + Column, then click 'Save check'.

PreRequisites

  1. At least two reports added to the reconciliation

  2. Be on the Copy reconciliation page

Steps

  1. On the Copy reconciliation page click '+ Add validation check' near the side where you want to add the check.
The 'Add validation check' modal opens.

  2. In the modal type a descriptive name into 'Check name' placeholder shows examples.
    A Check name is entered.

  3. Under 'Report 1' select the first report from 'Select report' and choose its 'Column'.
Report 1 and Column are selected.

  4. Under 'Report 2' select the second report from 'Select report' and choose its 'Column'.
Report 2 and Column are selected.

  5. Click 'Save check' to save the validation.
Validation check is saved and appears on the main page example: 'T1' tag near a side.

Troubleshooting

  1. 'Save check' does nothing or appears disabled.
LikelyCause: Required fields Check name, Report or Column are empty.
Action: Enter a Check name and select both Report + Column pairs, then click 'Save check'.

  2. Desired report not listed in 'Select report'.
LikelyCause: That report hasn't been added to the reconciliation.
Action: Add the report to the appropriate side first, then re-open the 'Add validation check' modal.

Note: The 'Add validation check' modal shows a 'matches with' divider between the two report blocks. Saved checks appear on the main page near sides.
