My uploaded file's header row is wrong or columns don't map correctly. What do I do?

Steps

1. Open 'View format' for the dataset that has mapping issues.
   'Expected data format' modal shows a data preview and mapping fields.

2. Change the 'Header row' value to the row number where your column names are commonly '1'.
   Data preview updates and shows the correct column headers.

3. Set the 'Date', 'Amount', and 'Reference / Identifier' fields on the right to the correct column names from your file.
   Mappings reflect columns from your file.

4. Click 'Download format' if you prefer a template, fix headers in your source file, then re-upload and re-run reconciliation.
   Correctly mapped rows appear in the reconciliation.

Troubleshooting

1. Columns still don't match after changing header row.
   LikelyCause: Your file uses unusual delimiters or merged cells.
   Action: Re-export the file as a plain CSV comma separated or clean up merged cells, then re-upload.

2. Identifiers look identical but rows still don't match.
   LikelyCause: Hidden characters, extra spaces or formatting differences in identifier values.
   Action: Normalize identifier values in your source file by trimming spaces and removing special characters, then re-upload.
