How do I map Date, Amount and Reference / Identifier columns for a report?

Last updated on Sep 02, 2026

Short Answer: Open 'View format' for the report, set 'Sheet' and 'Header row', then choose the correct 'Date', 'Amount' and 'Reference / Identifier' tokens shown e.g., 'Payment_Date', 'Final_Amount', 'order_release_id'.

PreRequisites

  1. Open the report's 'Expected data format' modal

  2. Know which columns in your file contain the date, amount and ID

Steps

  1. Click 'View format' for the report tile to open the 'Expected data format' modal.
Modal displays sample rows and field inputs on the right.

  2. Set the 'Sheet' e.g., 'Sheet1' or 'CSV' and 'Header row' e.g., '1'.
Preview columns align with header row.

  3. Enter/select the correct column name for 'Date'. Examples: 'Payment_Date', 'order_created_date', 'Order_Created_Date'.
    Dates populate correctly in preview.

  4. Enter/select the 'Amount' field. Examples: 'Final_Amount', 'Final_amount', 'Total_Amount'.
    Amounts match preview values.

  5. Select one or more columns for 'Reference / Identifier'. Examples: 'order_release_id', 'shipment_id', 'Sale_Order_Code'.
Reference tokens display under 'Reference / Identifier'.

  6. Click 'Download format' or 'Close' to save and return to the reconciliation setup.
    Mapping is used during reconciliation.

Troubleshooting

  1. No matches after mapping.
LikelyCause: Reference column differs between the two reports or header row is wrong.
Action: Confirm both reports use the same ID column as 'Reference / Identifier' and adjust 'Header row' if needed; re-run reconciliation.

  2. Dates or amounts appear incorrect in preview.
LikelyCause: Wrong 'Date' or 'Amount' token selected or sheet/header mismatch.
Action: Set the correct 'Sheet' and 'Header row', then pick the correct tokens and re-check the preview.

Note: Selecting the same 'Reference / Identifier' token across both files is critical for matching.
