What does 'Match basis' mean and where can I see which fields were used to match transactions?

Short Answer: 'Match basis' shows the Identifier and Amount columns used to create a match for example 'Reference ID + Amount' and is shown in the group details modal.

PreRequisites

  1. Reconciliation results are available

Steps

  1. Open the reconciliation results page e.g., 'X Company recon'.
Summary cards and lists are visible.

  2. Open the 'Partially matched' tab or click a partially matched group to open its details.
'Partially matched transaction details' modal opens.

  3. Look at the 'Match basis' area near the top of the modal to see chips like 'Reference ID' and 'Amount' and the explanatory text.
You can confirm which fields created the match.

Troubleshooting

  1. Match basis does not reflect the fields you expected.
LikelyCause: File column mappings Reference / Identifier or Amount differ from what you intended.
Action: Open 'Configure file' for both files, update Identifier and Amount mappings, and re-run reconciliation.
