What do the footer totals (Books / ledger selected, Vendor statement selected, Difference) mean?

Last updated on Sep 10, 2026

Short Answer: The footer shows the count and sum of selected transactions for each side and the numeric Difference between those sums; Difference must be 0 to match.

PreRequisites

  1. One or more transactions selected in one or both panels.

Steps

  1. Select transactions in both panels.
Selections appear and checkboxes are checked.

  2. Look at the footer line that reads Books / ledger selected: X transactions | amount and Vendor statement selected: Y transactions | amount.
Selected counts and sums are shown for each side.

  3. Read the Difference value shown in the footer.
The Difference shows how much the two selected sums differ; it must read 0 for Match manually to proceed.

  4. Adjust selections until the Difference equals 0 to enable matching.
Difference reads 0 and Match manually is actionable.

Troubleshooting

  1. Footer totals do not update when I select or deselect rows.
LikelyCause: Temporary UI lag or a client-side issue.
Action: Wait a few seconds, then try selecting a different row or refresh the modal/page. If the problem persists, reopen the Manual match transactions modal.

Note: Amounts include signs. Negative values show with a leading '-' as displayed in the Amount column.
