How do I edit a file entry (change mapping or details) for a file?

Last updated on Sep 10, 2026

Short Answer: Click the pencil edit icon on the file entry to open the file editor or mapping dialog, make changes, then save.

PreRequisites

  1. Be signed in.

  2. Permission to edit files for Sides.

Steps

  1. Open the card and find the file entry you want to edit.
You see the file entry with a pencil edit icon at the top-right of the file box.

  2. Click the pencil edit icon next to the file entry.
An edit dialog or editor opens for that file. Fields to change depend on the app.

  3. Make the necessary changes in the editor and save or confirm the changes.
The file entry reflects the updated settings or metadata.

Troubleshooting

  1. Clicking the pencil icon doesn't open an editor.
LikelyCause: A script error, blocked resource, or insufficient permissions.
Action: Reload the page, try a different browser, and confirm you have edit permissions. If it still fails, capture console errors and contact support.

Note: The pencil icon indicates an editable file entry. Exact editable fields are shown in the editor that opens after clicking the icon.
