How do I edit an existing validation check?

Last updated on Sep 16, 2026

Short Answer: Click the pencil icon next to the validation check, update fields in the 'Edit validation check' modal, then click 'Save check'.

PreRequisites

  1. An existing validation check is present in the reconciliation editor e.g., 'GST Check'.

Steps

  1. Locate the validation checks panel and click the pencil icon next to the check you want to edit.
The 'Edit validation check' modal opens.

  2. Modify the 'Check name', change 'Report 1' / 'Column' and/or 'Report 2' / 'Column' as needed.
    Fields display your updated selections.

  3. Click 'Save check' to apply the edits.
The check is updated in the validation checks panel with the new settings.

Troubleshooting

  1. Pencil icon not visible next to the check.
LikelyCause: You are not viewing the reconciliation editor or the checks panel is collapsed.
Action: Open the reconciliation editor and expand the validation checks area to find the check.

  2. 'Save check' fails after editing.
LikelyCause: A required mapping was cleared during edit e.g., Column deselected.
Action: Re-select the required fields Report and Column and click 'Save check' again.

Note: Edits to validation checks are used when the reconciliation runs. Validation checks compare after the primary match.
