How do I add a validation check (for example, a GST check)?

Short Answer: Click '+ Add validation check', enter a 'Check name', map Report 1/Column to Report 2/Column, then click 'Save check'. PreRequisites 1. 'Enable validation checks' is turned on in Settings. 2. At least one report uploaded to Side A and Side B for example, B2B and Disbursement. Steps 1. Confirm 'Enable validation checks' is on in Settings. Validation checks are enabled. 2. On the reconciliation editor click '+ Add validation check'. The 'Add validation check' modal opens. 3. In the modal enter a 'Check name' example placeholder suggests: 'E.g., GST check, TDS check, Fee check'. Check name field contains your name e.g., 'GST Check'. 4. Under 'Report 1' select the source report and select the matching 'Column'. Report 1 and its Column are selected. 5. Click the 'matches with' area, then under 'Report 2' choose the other report and select its 'Column'. Report 2 and Column are selected, mapping is complete. 6. Click 'Save check' to add the validation check. The new check appears in the validation checks panel for example, labeled 'GST Check'. Troubleshooting 1. 'Save check' button disabled or unresponsive. LikelyCause: One or more required fields Check name, Report 1/2 or Column are empty. Action: Fill the 'Check name' and select both 'Report' and 'Column' on both sides, then click 'Save check'. 2. Column dropdown contains no options. LikelyCause: The selected report has no recognizable amount/value columns or the report was not uploaded. Action: Confirm the report file is uploaded under the correct report group using '+ Add more files to Report 1' or '+ Add more files to Report 2', then re-open the modal and select a column. 3. New check does not appear after saving. LikelyCause: UI not refreshed or the checks panel is collapsed. Action: Look for the check in the validation checks panel or refresh the reconciliation editor; ensure you clicked 'Save check'. Note: Modal text: 'Select the amount or value columns you want to compare after the primary match is completed.' Map comparable amount columns on both reports.

My validation check exists but I don't see differences in the results — what should I check?

Short Answer: Confirm 'Enable validation checks' is on, the check is saved and mapped to valid columns, then re-run 'Run reconciliation' so checks run after the primary match. PreRequisites 1. A validation check has been created and saved. Steps 1. Open Settings and verify 'Enable validation checks' is toggled on. Validation checks setting is enabled. 2. Confirm the validation check appears in the validation checks panel and that Report + Column mappings are set. Check is present and mappings visible. 3. Click 'Run reconciliation' to run the primary match and apply validation checks. Reconciliation runs and results page loads. 4. Open the results and inspect the 'Difference' column on transaction rows and the 'Partially matched' / 'Unmatched' tabs. Validation check differences are shown where applicable. Troubleshooting 1. Differences still not visible after re-running. LikelyCause: Mapped columns do not contain numeric or comparable data. Action: Edit the validation check and choose appropriate numeric amount columns on both reports. Open 'Edit validation check'. 2. Validation check not listed in the panel. LikelyCause: The check was not saved when created. Action: Recreate the check using '+ Add validation check' and click 'Save check'. 3. Results show unexpected totals. LikelyCause: Validation checks compare only after primary match; summary totals reflect primary match classification and tolerance settings. Action: Check 'Amount tolerance' in Settings and adjust if needed, then re-run reconciliation. Note: The UI text states checks compare columns 'after the primary match is completed' — ensure the primary match is executed.
