How should I map columns for a validation check?

Last updated on Sep 16, 2026

Short Answer: Map the tax amount column on Side A to the comparable total column on Side B.

PreRequisites

  1. Reports with relevant columns are uploaded to both sides.

Steps

  1. Click '+ Add validation check' in the reconciliation editor.
    Add validation check modal opens.

  2. Enter 'Check name'.
    'Check name' is filled.

  3. Under 'Report 1' choose and set 'Column'.

  4. Click 'matches with', then under 'Report 2' choose and set 'Column'.

  5. Click 'Save check'.
Mapping saved for the GST validation check.

Troubleshooting

  1. Mapped totals do not match expected amounts.
LikelyCause: Columns selected represent different bases or include/exclude taxes or fees.
Action: Verify column definitions in the source files and select the columns that represent the same value across reports.
