How do I configure the Books file columns (header row, party, date, TDS amount)?

Short Answer: Open 'Configure file - Books', set 'Header row', choose 'Party / Customer Name' for party, 'Voucher Date' for Date, and 'TDS Receivable (Rs.)' for TDS amount; verify via Live normalized preview. PreRequisites 1. Books file uploaded and 'Configure file - Books' modal open. 2. You are on the 26AS TDS reconciliation flow. Steps 1. Open the 'Configure file - Books' modal. It appears after Continue or when configuring the Books file. Data preview shows rows from your Books file Data preview (20 rows). 2. Set 'Header row' to the row number that contains column headers using the dropdown. Column headings align correctly in the Data preview. 3. Set 'Party / Ledger name' to 'Party / Customer Name'. Party names display correctly in the preview. 4. Set 'Date' to 'Voucher Date'. Dates appear normalized in the Live normalized preview. 5. Set 'TDS amount' to 'TDS Receivable (Rs.)'. TDS values populate in the preview. 6. If a required column is missing, click 'Add column' and create/derive the column required for mapping. New column appears and can be selected in mapping dropdowns. Troubleshooting 1. Dates display as '2025-04-10T00:00:00' or incorrect format. LikelyCause: Wrong header row selected or wrong column mapped as Date. Action: Change 'Header row' to the correct row and re-select 'Voucher Date' as the Date column; confirm with Live normalized preview. 2. TDS column not available in mapping dropdown. LikelyCause: Header row misaligned or the column header is different. Action: Adjust 'Header row' so headers are recognized or use 'Add column' to create/rename the TDS column before mapping. Note: Use the 'Live normalized preview' to confirm mappings before you proceed. Header row in example is set to '4'.

Why is a transaction partially matched or unmatched and how do I fix it?

Short Answer: Partial/unmatched items occur when amounts, identifiers, or party names differ; check column mappings, party mappings and the 'Match basis' e.g., Reference ID + Amount, fix source data and re-run reconciliation. Answer PreRequisites 1. Have run reconciliation and can access Partially matched / Unmatched tabs. 2. Access to source Books and 26AS files for corrections. Steps 1. Open the 'Partially matched' or 'Unmatched' tab to locate affected transactions. List of problem transactions appears for review. 2. Click the transaction row and review 'Matched transaction details' to see 'Match basis' and the 'Difference'. You can identify which field caused the mismatch identifier, amount, or party. 3. If amounts differ, verify and correct the 'TDS amount' mapping in 'Configure file - Books' or correct the source file. Amount values align after correction. 4. If parties do not match, open 'Party mapping' and correct the '26AS deductor' selection for the Books party. Party mapping updated; re-run reconciliation. 5. Re-run the reconciliation to confirm the fixes moved transactions to Fully matched. Previously partial/unmatched rows move to Fully matched if resolved. Troubleshooting 1. Small decimal differences appear, e.g., -0.03. LikelyCause: Rounding or precision differences between source files. Action: Check source files for rounding; adjust precision in Books or correct values in source files; re-run reconciliation. 2. Reference ID missing for a row. LikelyCause: Identifier column not present or not mapped. Action: Map the identifier column in 'Configure file - Books' if available, or use party mapping to match by party and amount.
