How do I open a reconciliation to view its accounts and details?

Short Answer: On the Account reconciliations page click the reconciliation row or the 'View' link in Action, then click an account for example 'Bank A/c' to open its detail view. PreRequisites 1. Be signed in. 2. Access to the Account reconciliations page. Steps 1. Open Account reconciliations from the main menu so the list loads. You see the list of reconciliations with the table and top summary cards. 2. In the row for the reconciliation example 'Demo' click the reconciliation name or the 'View' link in the Action column. Reconciliation overview opens showing progress cards and the accounts table. 3. In the accounts table click the account row you want to inspect for example 'Bank A/c'. Account detail modal or panel opens showing balances, supporting items, reconciling items, comments and history. Troubleshooting 1. Clicking the row or 'View' does nothing. LikelyCause: Page did not fully load or you are not signed in / lack access. Action: Refresh the page, confirm you are signed in, then try again. If still blocked, contact your account admin to confirm access. 2. I can open the reconciliation but cannot open a specific account. LikelyCause: There are no account details created for that row or the row is 'Not started'. Action: Confirm the account has been prepared or assigned; check the Status column for 'Not started' before expecting details. Note: Use the 'Search reconciliations...' box and 'Add filter' to find a specific reconciliation.

The 'Reopen certified account?' modal appears. 3. In the modal enter a Reason in the text area placeholder: 'e.g. Balance discrepancy found after certification.' 'Reopen' button is disabled greyed out. LikelyCause: The 'Reason' field is empty. It is required. Action: Enter a reason in the text area; the modal shows 'Required — reason will be recorded in the history.' 2. I don't see 'Reopen reconciliation' in the menu. LikelyCause: You may not have permission or the account is not actually certified. Action: Confirm the account shows the 'Certified' badge and ask your admin to grant reopen permissions if needed. How do I map columns when configuring the trial balance file?

Short Answer: Open 'Configure file' for the uploaded file, choose 'Header row', set 'Account name' (and 'Account code' if available), pick closing balance handling (Single balance column or Separate debit and credit columns), then click 'Save & apply'. PreRequisites 1. A trial balance file uploaded and visible in the Trial balance box 2. File contains header row and account names Steps 1. On the New account reconciliation page click 'Edit' next to the uploaded trial balance. 'Configure file - filename' modal opens. 2. In the Configure file modal set the 'Header row' to the row containing your column headers. Preview rows align with the header row you selected. 3. Select the column for 'Account name' (and 'Account code' if you have one). Account names map correctly in the preview. 4. Under 'Closing balance' choose either 'Single balance column' or 'Separate debit and credit columns'. If you pick Separate, select the 'Debit' and 'Credit' columns. Closing balances are configured and the preview updates. 5. Click 'Save & apply' to save the mappings. Mappings saved and the reconciliation preview uses the mapped columns. Troubleshooting 1. Preview cells show 'Click to generate' instead of values. Likely Cause: The corresponding column has not been mapped. Action: Choose the correct column for 'Account name' or add the missing column mapping in the modal. 2. Balances look incorrect after mapping. Likely Cause: Incorrect closing balance method chosen (Single vs Separate debit/credit). Action: Reopen Configure file, choose the correct 'Closing balance' option and select proper Debit and Credit columns if using 'Separate debit and credit columns'. Note: The Configure file modal shows the hint 'Closing balance = Debit - Credit' when you choose Separate debit and credit columns.

Why does the UI display “₹2,40,000 remains unexplained”? Also, can I still submit or certify the report if this amount remains unexplained?

Short Answer: That message means 'Unexplained difference' is non-zero. You may still submit or certify, but the unexplained difference will remain visible in the reconciliation. PreRequisites 1. An account with a non-zero Unexplained difference. Steps 1. Open the account detail and check 'Difference' and 'Unexplained difference'. You can see the amount flagged in red and the explanation message. 2. To reduce the unexplained difference, add supporting items via '+ Add supporting item' or 'Upload file' in the Supporting items area. Supported balance increases and Unexplained difference reduces if amounts match. 3. If you choose not to resolve it, you can proceed: in 'Submit for review?' click 'Submit anyway' or as Reviewer click 'Certify' → 'Certify anyway'. The account moves to 'Awaiting review' or becomes 'Certified' while the unexplained difference remains visible. Troubleshooting 1. Unexplained difference remains unchanged after adding items. LikelyCause: Effect (Add/Reduce) selected incorrectly or incorrect amounts were entered. Action: Edit or remove the supporting item and re-add it with the correct 'Effect on supported balance' and amount sign. 2. I still see the warning in the submit/certify modal. LikelyCause: Unexplained difference was not fully resolved. Action: Either resolve the remaining difference or proceed with 'Submit anyway' / 'Certify anyway' knowing the difference will be shown in the reconciliation. Note: The product shows an explicit warning in the confirmation modals; proceed only if you accept that the unexplained amount will remain visible.
