How do I add data to my report?

Short Answer: Click '+ Add data' in the right panel, then choose 'Use reconciliation data', 'Use output from another report', or 'Upload new data' and follow the on-screen prompts. PreRequisites 1. Open the New report page. 2. Be signed in. 3. For upload: have an Excel or CSV file ready. 4. For reconciliation: have at least one completed recon if you plan to use one. Steps 1. On the New report page, click '+ Add data' under 'Data used'. The 'Add data' modal opens showing three choices. 2. From the 'Add data' modal choose one option: 'Use reconciliation data', 'Use output from another report', or 'Upload new data'. The selected data-source flow starts. A selection modal or file picker appears. 3. Follow the on-screen prompts for your chosen source: select a completed recon, pick a report, or upload a file. Sample rows appear in the report preview area first 25 valid rows. 4. After the data is added, configure fields under Rows, Columns and Values. Fields are selectable and the preview updates. Troubleshooting 1. The 'Add data' modal shows options but selecting one does nothing. LikelyCause: UI didn't fully load or a network error occurred. Action: Refresh the page and try again. If the issue persists, try a different browser or contact your admin. 2. Uploaded file doesn't appear or import fails. LikelyCause: Unsupported file format or file too large. Action: Save the data as .xlsx or .csv and try again. Reduce file size if necessary. Note: You can use reconciliation results, another Cointab report's output, or upload a new Excel/CSV file.

Short Answer: Click 'Click to generate' for a column in the sample data, enter natural-language instructions in 'Describe what you want', use 'Type / to insert columns', then click 'Generate formula'. PreRequisites 1. A data source must be added so sample rows appear. 2. Columns you want to reference must be present in the sample. Steps 1. In the sample table click the 'Click to generate' control for the column you want to create a formula for. The 'Generate formula' modal opens. 2. In the modal, type your instruction into 'Describe what you want'. The placeholder shows an example: 'Make refunds negative and subtract fee'. Your instruction appears in the text box. 3. Use 'Type / to insert columns' to add explicit column references to your instruction where needed. Column references are inserted into your description for clarity. 4. Click 'Generate formula'. A formula is generated based on your instructions and applied to the column. Sample updates. Troubleshooting 1. 'Generate formula' returns results that don't match expectations. LikelyCause: The instruction was ambiguous or lacked column references. Action: Be more specific in the description and use 'Type / to insert columns' to reference the columns you intend to use. 2. 'Generate formula' button is disabled. LikelyCause: The 'Describe what you want' field is empty. Action: Enter a description or insert column references, then try again. 3. 'Click to generate' is shown but clicking has no effect. LikelyCause: No valid sample rows are available for that column or UI load issue.
